Toxic stress in childhood and its devastating impact on communities will be examined tonight at the first Sacramento Voices Community Forum in Oak Park.
Dr. Andres Sciolla, Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at UC Davis, will lead the discussion, highlighting his research into toxic stress among children.
The Community Forum will begin at 6 p.m. at Unseen Heroes, 3433 Broadway. Admission is free.
The event will feature several community health experts discussing a wide array of problems, solutions and services in the South Sacramento community.
Dr. Sciolla, a physician with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UCD, will discuss disparities in mental and physical health among communities of color.
