Hundreds of ambitious businesswomen gathered Oct. 3 at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West for the Sac Cultural Hub Media Foundation’s Seventh Annual Exceptional Women of Color Networking Brunch Conference.
This special event buzzed with networking entrepreneurs and owners of several South Sacramento businesses. The EWOC conference is dedicated to honoring women and girls who exemplify greatness through community service, business ownership and scholastic achievement.
The day was filled with dynamic workshops, book signings, exhibitor shopping and an eye-opening youth and young women’s summit.
Smiles and business cards were exchanged by the minute. Chatter rang with introductions and excitement. Each participant seemed to glow with pride and enthusiasm, charged by the presence of professional presentations and diversity.
Highlights included the EWOC Excellence Awards, where many of the women honored expressed synergy through the inspiration of having experienced adversity, along with the rewards of community service.
Keynote speaker, Emmy-nominated Jude Lynn Toler, host of the television show Divorce Court, struck the audience to the core with a powerful focus on her topic, “Empowering women to lead.” Her delivery was straightforward yet filled with a nurturing concern for accountability and self-healing.
One thing’s for sure: with the business boom in Sacramento, there are some serious ladies emerging with the times.
